Message from The Director
Dear Parents, Guardians, Prospective Parents, and Our Esteemed Community,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Springfield International School, currently known as Springfield Schools. As the founder and director, I am proud to share our vision, our journey, and our commitment to providing quality education that transforms lives and contributes to community development.
Springfield was established with a clear purpose: to support our community through quality education and provide children from all walks of life with opportunities to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential. We believe that education is a powerful tool for empowering individuals, strengthening families, and building a better society.
Our journey began in 2011 with the construction and renovation of our original premises in Kibiri, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso District. The school officially opened in February 2013 with just 35 pupils. Since then, Springfield has grown steadily, educating thousands of learners over the years. In 2024, we relocated to our current premises in Kanaba, where we continue to expand our educational services. Today, we serve approximately 400 pupils across our kindergarten and primary sections, offering both day and boarding facilities.
Inclusive Education and a Conducive Learning Environment
At Springfield, we celebrate diversity and welcome pupils from different family, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Although we are a Christian-founded institution, we respect and accommodate learners from different faiths and traditions. Our pupils come from Uganda and other African countries, particularly within East Africa, creating a multicultural environment that promotes friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect.
Our school is situated on approximately one acre of land in Kanaba, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso District. We provide a relatively quiet and conducive learning environment away from much of the dust and noise associated with busy areas. Our facilities include spacious classrooms with tiled floors and a paved compound, contributing to a clean, organised setting for learning.
The kindergarten section is separated from the primary section, giving our youngest learners space suited to their developmental needs. This arrangement supports age-appropriate learning, play, exploration, and social development while allowing primary pupils to concentrate on their academic progress.
Academic Excellence and Practical Skills
We are committed to delivering quality education that prepares children for further studies and future opportunities. Springfield is registered and licensed with Uganda’s Ministry of Education and Sports and has a UNEB centre number. Over the years, our candidates have achieved encouraging academic results, including Divisions One and Two in national examinations.
Beyond academic performance, we believe that children need practical skills to succeed in today’s changing world. We therefore introduce learners to hands-on ICT and computer skills from an early stage, helping them develop digital awareness, confidence, and technological competence.
Our goal is to nurture well-rounded learners who demonstrate academic ability, creativity, discipline, critical thinking, good communication, and responsibility.
Dedicated Teachers and Individual Learner Support
We recognise that every child is unique and that effective education requires committed teachers who understand and respond to different learning needs. Our staff members are carefully selected and supported to work with pupils from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
We aim for a teacher-to-pupil ratio of approximately 2 teachers for every 35 pupils, depending on class and staffing arrangements, to support effective teaching and learner engagement.
We also value strong partnerships between the school and parents. Through open communication and shared responsibility, we can better support each child’s academic progress, behaviour, confidence, and overall development.

About the Director and Founder
Mr. Mutebi Moses is an experienced educator, school founder, and community support professional with over 15 years of experience in teaching and school administration in Uganda and North America. His professional journey across different educational settings has strengthened his commitment to quality education, inclusive learning, effective school leadership, and community development.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts with Education from Makerere University, Uganda, is a certified Canadian teacher, and is a certified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher through Awards House, United Kingdom. He also holds a Community Support Worker certification from Heritage College, Calgary, Canada.
In Canada, he works as a Vision Resources Support Education Assistant with the Yukon Government’s Department of Education, supporting students with visual impairments and diverse learning needs.
His combined experience in education, school management, and community support continues to shape his vision for Springfield: providing quality, inclusive, and practical education that empowers learners, supports families, and strengthens communities.

We offer education from Kindergarten through Primary Seven, with both Day and Boarding options, providing families with flexibility and children with a safe, supportive, and enriching learning environment. Our learners are given opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in an increasingly changing and technological world.
